USM Regents Committees on Finance, Economic Development Meet Sept. 7
Adelphi, Md. (Sept. 5, 2017) -- The University System of Maryland (USM)
Board of Regents Committee on Finance will meet at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Sept.
7. The meeting will take place in the Multi-Purpose Room of the Columbus
Center. The Center is located at 701 E. Pratt Street in Baltimore, Md.

discuss items specifically exempted in the Open Meetings Act from public

At 12 noon, the Committee
on Economic Development and Technology Commercialization will meet in the
Multi-Purpose Room. The featured immunotherapy
start-up, Living Pharma Inc., was one of the first investments of UMB's New Ventures
Initiative and is the first to execute a successful exit. The committee
also will be briefed on Towson University's recent award of a $1 million STEM
grant from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI). Additionally,
following the hiring of a new director, the committee will be advised of the
status of the USM Momentum Fund. Finally, the Committee will be updated
