The University System of Maryland (USM) is a dynamic force throughout the State of Maryland. Our 12 institutions and two regional education centers enable the USM to meet its mandated goals of ensuring higher education access, affordability, and excellence to a diverse community of students. In addition, the USM has a growing impact on the innovation economy, thanks to cutting-edge research activity and partnership-driven workforce development. And with an ethic of community outreach part of each institution's mission, the USM enhances Maryland's quality of life through its many service efforts.
As a dynamic system, the USM is always changing to meet the broader needs of the state and nation.
