Friday, February 27th,  "Carbon Footprints and Climate Action Plans at the City Scale," Dr. Anu Ramaswami, University of Colorado Denver. The Center for Urban Environmental Research and Education, Spring 2009 Seminar Series, University of Maryland , Baltimore County. Seminars are held on Fridays at 2 PM in the Technology Research Center, Room 206, on the University of Maryland, Baltimore County campus, and are free and open to the public. Registration is not required. Visitor parking passes for the TRC lot may be purchased for $4.00 in the CUERE office in TRC 102/105 shortly before seminar.
Wednesday, February 25th, Landscape Sustainability: Drivers of Consumption, Dr. David Myers, Ph.D., ASLA, RLA, and is Director, Digital Studio, Landscape Architecture Program and Adjunct Faculty at the Monteverde Institute in Costa Rica. Noon-1pm in Tydings Hall, Room 0117, on the University of Maryland, College Park campus.

Tuesday, February 24th, Energy: A 2009 Worldwise Event  from 4:30-6pm in the Gildenhorn Recital Hall, CSPAC, on the University of Maryland, College Park campus. The global energy crisis is not a challenge for scientists and economists alone. Humanists and artists can show us new ways to understand and address the problem.

Tuesday, February 24th, Innovation in Green Roof Design Construction from 12:30-1:45pm in the Plant Science Building, Room 489F, University of Maryland, College Park. The Department of Plant Science and Landscape Architecture presents the "Green Roofs and Urban Related Sustainability Topics" Speaker Series throughout the Spring semester.
