USM Board of Regents Committee on Education Policy and Student Life Meets November 29
Baltimore, Md. (Nov. 28, 2023) – The University System of Maryland (USM) Board of Regents Committee on Education Policy and Student Life will hold its next scheduled meeting at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 29.

The committee will vote on a proposed name change and related revisions to its bylaws and charge. The committee will vote on revisions to the policy concerning the scheduling of academic assignments on dates of religious observance and campus space for faith-based or religious practices. The committee also will vote on proposed revisions to the policy on academic transcripts.
The committee will vote on several academic program proposals from the University of Maryland, College Park: B.S. in Global Health; M.S. in Data Science; M.S. in Applied Machine Learning; and a M.S. in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology. The committee also will vote on academic program proposals from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore: B.S. in Gaming and Software Engineering and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine.
The committee will hear updates on the Kirwan Center for Academic Innovation and the Maryland Center for Computing Education. The committee will also receive a report on extramural funding for fiscal year 2023.
