USM Board of Regents to Vote on Tuition at April 23 Meeting
ADELPHI, Md. (April 20, 2009)-The University System of Maryland (USM) Board of Regents will hold a special meeting to take action on tuition and mandatory fees for fiscal year 2010. The public meeting is scheduled to begin at 11 am Thursday, April 23, in the Potomac Lounge of Towson University's University Union.
At the meeting, USM Chancellor William E. Kirwan will recommend that the tuition rates for resident undergraduate full- and part-time students remain at the current FY 2009 levels as the result of budget actions taken by Maryland Governor Martin O'Malley and the General Assembly. If the board approves the recommendation, this will mark the fourth consecutive year that the Board of Regents has frozen undergraduate tuition for Maryland residents due to the level of state funding made available to help avoid tuition increases.
The tuition action is the only item on Thursday's agenda. Sign language interpreters and/or appropriate accommodations for eligible individuals with disabilities will be provided upon request. Please call 301.445.1901 (voice) or 301.314.7683 (TTY/ITT) to make special arrangements.
